Our history
Sixty years ago the Viscardi family decided to focus everything on the production and processing of the typical tomatoes of the Agro-Sarnese-Nocerino area.
Today we are present in the same area with a highly specialized plant in the transformation and conservation of tomatoes.
In 1957 the Viscardi family, headed by their grandfather, started their own vegetable trading business in the local area. In 1961 La Bella San Marzano was born, a small company that makes its way among others for the transformation of local tomatoes. In the seventies the company is in strong growth and begins to obtain greater demand from abroad. Thus began the export of canned food to Europe.
Towards the end of the decade, despite the world economy being in recession, demand also begins to arrive from overseas, thus starting exports to the American continent.
In the eighties the company continues to grow strongly. The La Bella San Marzano brand is consolidated and starts with an expansion of the production lines. In 1998, in order to meet demand and diversify the offer, the production structures were expanded, adopting new technological tools. It was in 2002 that La Bella San Marzano began exporting also to the East and, later in 2010, it also started to cover the Latin American market.
Today, as always, our gaze is directed towards the future. The generational change implements a restyling of the logo and management, for a growth that is constant over time.
